Tax information authorization vs. power of attorney
Generally, a tax information authorization (TIA) only allows representatives to review your tax account information for:
- Individuals
- Fiduciary (estates and trusts)
- Group nonresident
- Businesses
A power of attorney (POA) declaration allows representatives to act on your behalf and review your account information.
