Access MyFTB Account
To view account information, individuals, businesses, and tax professionals must complete a free one-time registration process.
- Individuals can pay online via Web Pay, view their MyFTB Account information, update their address and phone number, and file their current and prior year return with CalFile.
- Businesses can pay online via Web Pay for Businesses and view their estimated tax payments with MyFTB Account for Businesses.
- Tax professionals can view their clients' account information¹.
¹To view a client's account, tax professionals should have their client's permission and must provide information from the client's tax return.
The registration process
In the registration process, you answer a series of questions and select a user name and password. You can change your user name and password at any time, however, we require you to change your password annually. We will notify you each year when you need to select a new password.
What you need to register
If you have not filed a CA tax return in one of the last five years, you cannot register. Exception: CalFile-only individuals may register without having a previous return on file.
If your business has not filed a CA tax return in one of the last five years, you cannot register.
If you do not have one of the ID numbers above, you cannot register as a tax professional.
You will also need:
- A compatible browser and operating system. We recommend that you log out and close your browser when you are done to ensure the highest level of security.
