Golden State Stimulus

California provides the Golden State Stimulus to families and individuals who qualify. This is a stimulus payment for certain people that file their 2020 tax returns. The Golden State Stimulus aims to:

  • Support low and middle income Californians
  • Help those facing a hardship due to COVID-19

For most Californians who qualify, you do not need to do anything to receive the stimulus payment other than file your 2020 tax return.

There are two different stimulus payments. You may qualify for one or both of them. Visit the boxes below for more information regarding Golden State Stimulus I and II.
