Vehicle Registration Collection Program Resumed
On April 10, 2014, the Vehicle Registration Collection (VRC) program resumed collection activity. The program collects delinquent vehicle registration and fees (parking, transfer, license, use tax, etc.) for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). R&TC Section10878 authorized the VRC program in 1993.
In January, the DMV, in conjunction with us, determined that DMV is not authorized to refer FasTrak fees to us for collections. As a result, effective February 7, 2014, VRC placed a moratorium on all DMV collection activities to identify and remove these fees.
The DMV successfully identified and removed these fees from our inventory and will no longer refer these fees to us. As a result, we released the VRC program to resume full operations.
