Ask the Advocate – FTB’s Advisory Board
At least once a year, Franchise Tax Board’s Executive Officer holds an advisory board to discuss issues relating to California income tax. As the Taxpayers' Rights Advocate, my responsibility is to act as the executive secretary. The board consists of representatives from industry, state, and federal government such as the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, California State Bar Association, Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee, Internal Revenue Service, Apple Computer, and Stanford University to list a few. The Advisory Board was created as a method for taxpayer representatives to provide insight and contributions from a non-FTB point of view to our executive officer on the various projects and programs we administer and work directly with our management to resolve issues of mutual concern.
