Successfully Implemented Credit Card Payment Option for Businesses
On May 1, 2014, we successfully implemented the credit card payment option for business taxpayers online and in our field offices. We received taxpayer comments that validated this option as a benefit. Taxpayers appreciate that it only takes a few minutes to make a payment; using the credit card vendor website is easy, especially for new businesses; and, it accelerates the process for entities seeking to gain compliance and revive their business.
As of May 31, we processed one thousand seventy five (1,075) business entity credit card payments resulting in $1.24 million in revenue. This payment application provides a benefit to businesses in California and improves our efficiency.
