California Tax Tip Video Transcript: Collection Automated Dialer (Outbound Call)

Hi, I’m Daniel Tahara with another California Tax Tip about a new way FTB will be contacting some of our taxpayers with collection issues.

No one wants a tax lien or wage garnishment.

That’s why starting early July, we will begin using an automated calling system to contact taxpayers to offer assistance in resolving their tax debts and avoid collection actions like liens and wage garnishments.

Here’s how it works.

If you’ve received a final collection notice and haven’t responded within the given time frame, we may call you and leave a message directing you to our self-service options available on our website and our automated phone system to resolve your account.

If you’re already in our collections process, our automated system will call you and connect you directly with one of our collectors to assist with your account.
