ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CHECK CASHERS
PURPOSE OF BULLETIN
To advise staff of additional waiver and reporting requirements for check casher businesses.
Effective January 1, 2006, new information reporting requirements went into effect for California check casher businesses.
Some businesses do not possess the necessary computer resources and are unable to submit their data in acceptable format as prescribed by FTB. Check cashers who are unable to submit on a CD-ROM must submit form FTB 3607, Waiver Request Form, and state their reason for not filing. At this time, Waivers are only valid for the 2006 tax year.
HOW TO FILE
Information returns are to be submitted on a CD-ROM. Record layout and media specifications can be found on the FTB Website at /businesses/Check_Casher/
