State Tax Information Available Around the Clock
With four weeks to go before the state income tax filing deadline, the Franchise Tax Board is announcing a wide range of public services to assist taxpayers.
FTB's award-winning website, www.ftb.ca.gov, is available around-the-clock, and is the fastest way to get current or prior year tax forms, publications, answers to frequently asked questions, information about other e-services, legal rulings and much more. It is a popular site for those seeking state tax information-nearly three million visits a month so far in 2002.
For taxpayers who prefer to use the telephone, FTB's toll-free automated phone service at (800) 338-0505 is available anytime for answers to the most frequently asked tax questions and to order both state and federal tax forms. You can check on your refund or verify your current balance and payments made.
FTB's toll-free Taxpayer Services Center will be available an additional two hours a day, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning March 11 through April 15. Taxpayers who are unable to access information on the Internet or automated phone service can call an FTB service agent at (800) 852-5711. Service is also available on Saturdays, and on Cesar Chavez Day, a state holiday observed on Monday April 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Our 16 district offices statewide offer walk-in service Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding state holidays. To locate the nearest district office, visit the website or call one of our toll-free numbers.
