IDENTITY THEFT COORDINATOR AND CONTACTS
PURPOSE OF BULLETIN
The purpose of this bulletin is to advise staff that the FTB has established an Identity Theft Coordinator, along with area contact personnel, to oversee the handling of identity theft cases.
With the ever-increasing number and complexity of identity theft cases, it is essential that the FTB establish procedures for the timely, appropriate, and consistent handling of these cases. It is important that all employees are aware of these procedures and adhere to them. We must ensure that the victims of identity theft receive the best customer service possible.
IDENTITY THEFT COORDINATOR
Each area within FTB has an Identity Theft Contact Individual. Your first contact point regarding any identity theft issue should be your area contact person. The department’s designated Identity Theft Resolution Coordinator’s telephone number is (916) 845-3669.
If you believe you have an identity theft case, refer to your unit procedures for instructions. You should contact your area’s Identity Theft Contact Individual immediately. They will coordinate all activities relating to the identity theft case with the Identity Theft Coordinator.
