Franchise Tax Board to Pick Up the Phones
Extended Customer Service Hours Planned Through April 15
The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is staffing its toll-free phone lines for extended hours through April 15, announced the FTB.
"Californians deserve to get tax help at times that are convenient for them. This is good news as we quickly approach the April 15 tax deadline," stated State Controller and FTB Chair Steve Westly.
The FTB's customer service representatives are ready to take calls on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, April 10. For Monday through Friday service, the FTB is available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. starting Monday, March 8. Our current hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The FTB's customer service representatives are equipped to answer technical tax questions and provide account information. To reach the FTB, taxpayers can call (800) 852-5711.
In addition to calling our staffed phone line, taxpayers can call our automated toll-free phone service at (800) 338-0505, to order tax forms, get answers to frequently asked tax questions, and check on payments, balances due, and refunds. From the FTB's Website at www.ftb.ca.gov, taxpayers can get a quick overview of important information for this year's taxes, get answers to frequently asked tax questions, take advantage of free e-file, check on account information, and use our many other e-services.
The FTB's toll-free service center handles more than 2.1 million calls each year. The FTB expects to process more than 14 million state income tax returns during the filing season. Last year, the FTB's Website received more than 56 million visits.
