FTB's Annual Taxpayers' Bill of Rights Hearing
Taxpayers have the opportunity to propose changes to state income tax laws at the Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) annual Taxpayers' Bill of Rights hearing early next month.
The hearing provides taxpayers a chance to present proposals to change existing state income tax laws and/or improve the FTB's publications or services.
This year's hearing will follow the FTB Board meeting, which starts at 1:00 p.m. on December 2 at the State Board of Equalization, 450 N Street, Room 121, Sacramento, California.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Californians to voice their suggestions," said State Controller and Chair of the FTB Steve Westly. "I strongly encourage concerned citizens to participate in this forum to effect change in their government."
The FTB requests that taxpayers planning to make presentations submit a written statement before the hearing. Recommended changes to the tax laws should include the appropriate sections of the California Revenue and Taxation Code and the proposed change. Taxpayers may send their statements to:
