250 Top Delinquent Taxpayers to Receive Public Disclosure Letters

PURPOSE OF BULLETIN

Inform staff we will mail 250 Notice of Public Disclosure of Tax Delinquency letters on February 18, 2009. We will send the letters to the top delinquent personal and business entity taxpayers with a tax delinquency over $100,000. We will publish this information on our public website beginning April 9, 2009.

BACKGROUND

California Revenue and Taxation Code ยง19195 authorizes FTB to publicly disclose the names, addresses, and secured amounts owed of the 250 top delinquent PIT and BE taxpayers who owe over $100,000 in delinquent taxes. We update this list annually.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Only PIT and BE assigned collectors work these accounts. The accounts can be identified in the We Have window of ARCS, as “2009 Top 250 Lt” and the form FTB 4192, Notice of Public Disclosure of Tax Delinquency letter, will have been issued in the history on the account.
