Return Information Notice - Code 03

The overpayment on your return is not enough to cover all contributions you requested. If you chose more than one contribution fund, we divided the amount among the funds.

Definition: A voluntary contribution is an election made by the taxpayer to designate amounts on his or her tax return to charitable funds.

Why did I receive this notice code?

You requested to contribute more money than the amount of your overpayment or refund.

If you are due a refund, you may direct all or a portion of the refund to a voluntary contribution fund. You may make contributions of $1 or more in whole dollar amounts.

What do I need to do?

Check the amount you entered in the contributions section of your tax return.

If you agree with the revisions you do not need to contact us. Please update your records.
