Live Chat Web Based Communication Application

Purpose of bulletin

To inform staff that on March 1, 2011, we launched a live chat communication application for general personal income tax questions on our public website.

Beginning September 30, 2011, we will expand our service to include general business entity questions.


Live Chat provides the public an opportunity to ask a representative general questions and get help with our public website.

Public Website

Taxpayers can select Live Chat from four areas within our public website homepage:

  • Contact Us tab at the top
  • Live Chat gold bar
  • Individual tab at the top
  • Tax Professional tab at the top

When they click on the Live Chat button, taxpayers will get details about the service including a caution against providing confidential information. At the end of their session, taxpayers will have an opportunity to rate their experience and provide feedback.

Taxpayers can go to for Live Chat. They can also call us at 800.852.5711, Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., except state holidays.
