Purpose of bulletin

To inform staff that on November 4, 2010, we implemented a new authentication method for MyFTB Account and Web Pay for Businesses.

Background

Taxpayers and tax representatives use the taxpayer’s Customer Service Number (CSN) to view MyFTB Account information. Starting November 4, 2010, taxpayers and tax representatives go through a one-time registration process to select their own user name and password to use in place of the current SSN and CSN combination.

Business entities self-register and select their own user name and password to access the new online service Web Pay for Businesses.

Online Services Using The New Authentication Method

  • Web Pay for Businesses
  • MyFTB Account (allows online address updates)

Taxpayer Inquiries

We added links to the upper right of our public website pages.

We added information about the new authentication method to certain web pages, such as MyFTB Account and Web Pay index.

Applications That Will Continue To Use CSN

Taxpayers still use their CSN to access their Ready Return.
