Purpose of bulletin
To inform staff the Exempt Unit will mail approximately 14,000 FTB 3750, New Entity Identification Number notices to existing tax-exempt organizations that were recently given an FTB entity identification number.
Some tax-exempt organizations that were subordinates or members of a group exemption were not issued an FTB entity ID number. A change in reporting requirements now requires each organization to have its own ID. Therefore, we assigned entity ID numbers to all subordinate entities.
FTB 3750 informs organizations of the 7-digit entity ID number we assigned them and instructs them to use the number when they file returns or send correspondence to us. They no longer use the parent or group identification name or number.
Go to ftb.ca.gov, and search for exempt organization, or call us at 916.845.4171, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except state holidays.
