  1. I forgot to print or save a copy of my return for my records. Can you send me one?

    Yes. Please call us at (800) 338-0505. We may charge a processing fee for this service.

  2. Can I get an electronic copy of my return?

    Unfortunately, we cannot send you an electronic copy of your return after you file it.

  3. How long will it take to get my refund?

    If you e-file your ReadyReturn, you can expect your refund within a week. If you file using paper, it will take 4-6 weeks. You can check the status of your refund online.

  4. What do I need to do after I file my return using ReadyReturn?

    Keep your completed return, other tax documents (e.g., Forms W-2, W-2G, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-R), and California Online e-file Return Authorization for Individuals (form FTB 8453-OL) for four years from the due date of the return or four years from the date the return was filed, whichever is later.

    If you are getting a refund, you can expect your refund within a week if you e-file your ReadyReturn. If you file using paper, it will take 4-6 weeks . You can check the status of your refund online.

    If you owe money and did not send your payment with your return, you still need to pay the amount you owe. We offer several payment options.

  5. What do I do if I find an error after I file my return?

    To change your filing status, income, credits, tax amounts, or payments, complete an Amended Individual Income Tax Return (Form 540X).

    Yes. Call (800) 522-4144 at least two business days before the scheduled payment date.
