The Hotline is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during normal operating periods, and is not open on weekends and state holidays.

Electronic communication and data transmission

Secure Electronic Communication (SEC)
Taxpayers, authorized taxpayer representatives, and certain state agencies can use SEC to communicate electronically by sending and receiving confidential information with designated Franchise Tax Board staff.
Secure Web Internet File Transfer System (SWIFT)
This is the Franchise Tax Board’s preferred secure file transfer system. SWIFT provides an alternate secure method for transferring large files to and retrieving files from FTB. It is designed to meet the file transfer needs of government agencies and external business customers.
