(Important: Web payments and credit card payments are not considered guaranteed funds. Guaranteed funds are money orders/cashier’s checks via USPS Overnight Mail and Western Union Quick Collect payments. For urgent levy release or drivers license issues, do not make payments through web pay or credit card.)
To Pay by Check, Money Order, or Cashier’s Check:
- Make payments payable to Court-Ordered Debt Collections.
- Write your full name, account number, and billing number on your payment.
- Mail your payment and the top portion of your notice to:

To Pay by Western Union Quick Collect, you must have:
(Important: Western Union accepts only cash or credit card payments.)
- Your COD account number.
- The following information to enter on the Western Union Quick Collect payment form:
1. Pay to: CA FranchiseTaxBoard
2. Code City: FranchiseTaxBoard, CA
3. State: CA
4. Sender's name: Your full name
5. Account Number with Company: Your COD account number from the upper right corner of your notice
6. ATTN: Court-Ordered Debt Collections
Once you make your Quick Collect payment, contact a COD representative at 916.845.4064 to provide your Money Transfer Control Number. This will verify your payment.

To Pay by Web Pay, you must have:
- Your COD account number.
- Billing number on your COD notice.
- Bank account holder last name.
- Checking or savings bank account number.
- Checking or savings bank routing number.
Login to My Court-Ordered Debt Account and navigate to Pay Online tab.
To Pay by Credit Card, you must have:
- Your COD account number.
- Billing number on your COD notice.
- Credit card holder last name.
- Credit card number.
- Credit card expiration date.
- Zip code for billing address.
Login to My Court-Ordered Debt Account and navigate to Pay by Credit Card tab.
(Important: Official Payments Corporation (OPC) is the credit card payment provider for COD. You can make credit card payments online via the internet or on the phone through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.)
Internet option:
- If starting from OPC home page, select “State Payments”.
- Enter Jurisdiction Code “1584”.
- For Payment Type, select “Court-Ordered Debt Payment”.
IVR Option:
- Dial 1.800.272.9829.
- Select option “2” (State Taxes).
