Senate Bill 532 (Solis, et al.), as enacted on September 30, 1997, made the following changes to California law:
SUBJECT: California Firefighters Memorial Fund/Extend Repeal Date
Section 18804 of the Revenue and Taxation Code is amended.
Under the Administration of Franchise and Income Tax Laws, this act extends the operation of the California Firefighters Memorial Fund from January 1, 1999, to January 1, 2001.
This act is repealed on January 1, 2001. However, if the FTB estimates by September 1 that the contributions to the California Firefighters Memorial Fund are less than $100,000 for taxable year 1999 or less than $250,000 for taxable year 2000, the statute will be repealed in that year and the Fund will be deleted from the tax return in the following year.
This act applies to tax returns filed for the 1997 through 2000 tax years.
This act does not require any reports by the department to the Legislature.
