Maidu Community Center, Roseville
February 2008

The Maidu Community Center buzzes with activity this time of year. Trained, local volunteers provide FREE tax counseling and return preparation to senior, and low-to-middle-income taxpayers. In the past 17 years, these dedicated volunteers have helped hundreds of taxpayers file their returns in time for the April 15 deadline.
The center, conveniently located in Roseville, CA, provides free parking including eight handicapped spaces. And, Roseville Transit’s Dial-A-Ride program offers curb-to-curb service to the site.
Volunteers use computers to complete federal and state tax returns. They file most returns electronically. With direct deposit, taxpayers can have their refunds within 5 to 7 banking days.

City of Roseville Site Coordinator, Joanie Cameron, coordinates the volunteers, and provides a centralized appointment desk for three additional locations in Roseville. The free tax service is available by appointment only. Residents of Roseville and Granite Bay who qualify may book appointments by calling (916) 774-5960. The center also provides shut-in service by appointment.
The Maidu Center is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday, beginning February 5 and ending April 15.
The center is one of many locations throughout California that provide free tax service to qualifying individuals. To find a site near you, go to our website and search for VITA.
